Temple Emanu-El Artist Showcase Weekend 2022

Saturday, December 3 – Opening Reception and Havdalah from 6-9 pm (members only)

Sunday, December 4 - Showcase from 11 am – 3 pm (community welcome)

Benderson Family Hall

Do you have hidden artistic talents?  Temple Emanu-El invites its members to submit entries to participate in the congregation’s very first “Artist Showcase” scheduled for early December.

“I am so excited by the enthusiasm for this new venture – we have so many artists and art lovers at our Temple!,” says Rabbi Brenner Glickman, who initiated this new undertaking. “The best part about this art show is how it has brought so many people together, all with a shared passion and joy. I am so eager to see the art that our members produce. I wish the show were tomorrow!”

Participation in the non-juried Artist Showcase is open to Temple members 18 years and older, both professional and non-professional artists. The mediums to be showcased include paintings and drawings, pottery, collage, textiles, glass, sculpture, photography and original printmaking. No sales will take place at the show.

Deadline for artist registration is October 14, 2022. There are three ways to register:

  • Fill out and submit the online registration form here.
  • Fill out the interactive PDF here, save it to your computer and name it with your name followed by the words “Artist Showcase,” and send it to Paula Hayden via email per instructions.
  • Print out the PDF here and fill it out by hand and mail it to the Temple, attention “Artist Showcase.”

To RSVP for the Opening Reception, email Anne Bishop here.

There are no fees to enter or for any of the weekend’s activities.  Contributions to help offset costs are welcome. Please send your check to the Temple attention “Artist Showcase.”

The first-time exhibit is being organized under the auspices of a new Art Committee whose mission is to enhance the lives of Temple members and the broader community through the beauty and interest in the visual arts.  In addition to mounting the Artist Showcase, the group is creating learning opportunities for Temple members through its Art Excursions subcommittee and is exploring possibilities for enhancing the lives of all generations through art experiences and experiential art workshops.
