It is our tradition at Temple Emanu-El to prepare a Book of Remembrance for distribution during the Yizkor service on Yom Kippur. It is considered an honor to the memories of both the recently deceased and other family members by to include their names along with a contribution. In Jewish tradition, the number 18 means chai, or life, and contributions are often made in multiples of that number. We suggest a minimum donation of $18 per name to be included in the Book of Remembrance. In this volume, we also list the names of all who have passed away since last Rosh Hashanah.
