The Need
Temple Emanu-El was the first Reform Jewish temple in our community and has been a congregation of choice for full-time and seasonal Jewish residents since 1956. Over the past decade, our membership has increased by several hundred households, making us the largest synagogue in the region.
We are proud to fulfill the Temple's mission and vision by cultivating a thriving congregation, providing a place for people to pray, gather, learn, perform mitzvot, and support one other. While the growth is exciting and the result of much planning and hard work, we are fast outgrowing our current facilities.
Our Growing Together: Planning Our Future capital campaign aims to enhance our property in five key areas – parking, security, an outdoor worship and event space, office building expansion, and storage capacity – which will serve to increase our daily functionality for and safety of our members, staff and visitors.
From young families with little ones, college-age students and those active in the workforce to seasonal guests, retirees and seniors, our active membership reflects people of all ages with different needs. While we are still meeting those needs to the best of our ability, the Growing Together campaign will offer new opportunities to interact with one another and to build a stronger sense of community among our members and guests.
The goal of our Growing Together: Planning Our Future capital campaign is to raise $3.1 million dollars with the full participation – at any giving level – of our congregation. Any additional funds raised above and beyond the goal will be used to address future facility needs and maintenance.
Ultimately, our Growing Together campaign is not just about money or buildings – it is about envisioning our future and ensuring we can continue to be a thriving center of Jewish life. Your investment today will improve our operations now as well as serve to help build for our future!
