Social Justice's Mission:
The Social Justice Committee supports a non-partisan approach. We work as advocates for social justice in all forms consistent with Jewish values, based on the idea that “Jews bear responsibility not only for their own moral, spiritual, and material welfare, but also for the welfare of society at large.” Tikkun olam signifies repairing the world through the pursuit of social justice.
Social Justice's Purpose:
We serve as a conduit of information and opportunities for advocacy on issues of social justice in the greater Sarasota area. Our focus is on promoting a just society by challenging injustice, protecting human rights for all, and supporting the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities.
